About the role
Role : Principal DevOps Engineer
Location : REMOTE – EST Candidates only
Duration : 12-month contract initially
Rate : $100.00
Candidate Status Requirement: GC/USC
Summary : CareFirst is migrating over 300 applications to the cloud and is seeking a hands-on Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the build and optimization of production-grade DevOps pipelines for applications transitioning to AWS, leveraging services such as EKS and EC2. This role requires direct involvement in building CI/CD pipelines and close collaboration with various CareFirst teams to support their integration and connectivity needs across the cloud environment and product ecosystem.
12 years overall IT experience
4 years' experience in AWS cloud and building CI/CD pipelines for deployment to Kubernetes
Experience Helm charts for packaged configurations and deployment
Experience with Kubernetes within EC2
Experience with ISTIO for secured deployments (or any similar tool)
Python/Shell scripting experience
Experience with any artifact tools (GitHub, Nexus, Artifactory, Cloudbees, etc)
Experience with Jira/Confluence
Linux/Windows experience, Administration background
Nice to have:
Experience with Cloudbees, Nexus, Sonarqube, and Bitbucket
EKS cluster administration experience
Experience with ISTIO
