Description

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong SQL expertise and a solid background in Asset Management for a long-term consulting engagement in Princeton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with financial data, investment platforms, and enterprise data solutions within buy-side or investment management environments.

The candidate will work closely with portfolio management, operations, data, and technology teams to develop scalable solutions supporting investment workflows, analytics, reporting, and data integration initiatives.

Required

5+ years of experience in Python development

Strong SQL and database development skills

Experience in Asset Management / Investment Management domain

Hands-on experience with financial data, investment workflows, or portfolio systems

Experience with data analysis, ETL, and reporting solutions

Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and production support

Ability to work directly with business users and cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills

Experience with portfolio management or trading platforms

Exposure to market data, performance, risk, or security master data

Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and automation tools

Knowledge of tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, or AWS is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Python-based applications and data solutions

• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validations

• Support investment data processing, reporting, and analytics workflows

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements

• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities

• Work within Agile teams to deliver scalable technology solutions
