Job Title: Python Engineer with Data Governance
Location: Dallas, TX – onsite
Length: 6-10 months
Job Description:
Understand end-to-end cards and loans business knowledge including credit, fraud, and application lifecycle.
Help promote the data governance framework and drive adoption across all the firm's divisions.
Partner with Divisional Data Offices to help them implement the policies and procedures for Data Governance
Participate in working groups to improve data quality and ease of access to information.
Provide guidance and training on how to plan implementation of requirements set forth by the policy.
Work with the technical team responsible for developing the data governance platform and tool set.
Drive ongoing governance initiatives to meet policy and audit standards for division of the firm globally.
Monitor the division's risk posture, providing management with transparency utilizing management reporting/dashboards.
Liaise with business managers within the division to develop risk remediation plans and advise on control options.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with prior knowledge of data governance and data quality is required.
Good coding background on Python and writing complex SQLs is must to participate in data analysis.
Experience defining a governance roadmap, identifying KRIs, defining KPIs, and leading the control implementation.
Experience working with stakeholders on projects to develop strategies and solutions, ideally related to data.
Experience working with a business team to develop functional requirements and translating those into technical requirements is important.
Ability to work in a collaborative manner with stakeholders and drive consensus is essential.
Proficient with spreadsheet/presentation/dashboard tools and ability to learn quickly and adapt to new changes and new challenges.
Effectively partner with divisions across the firm with a focus on end-client value.
Proactive and works well in a collaborative environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior knowledge of consumer banking and products including cards and loans.

Helpful to understand firmwide data governance tools including alloy, panorama and alation.

May have a software engineering background (not required).

Experience of data governance or data management.

Experience working with ELK.
