About the role
Senior Appian Developer
Location: West Des Moines, IA (4 days onsite / 1 day remote) local only
Employment Type: Contract (C2H possible) Industry: Financial Services / Banking / Insurance
Available for onsite meeting before the Interview
3–5+ years Appian development, SAIL, Process Models, Records, Reports, API integrations (REST/SOAP), Service-Backed Records, and strong problem-solving/communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end Appian applications using best practices
Build robust solutions leveraging SAIL interfaces, process models, records, reports, and integrations
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Optimize and enhance applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Implement secure enterprise-grade integrations with backend systems and databases
Troubleshoot complex issues and continuously improve application reliability
Champion Appian coding standards, best practices, and platform governance
Required Skills & Experience
3–5+ years of hands-on Appian development across the full platform
Expertise in SAIL, Process Models, Records, Reports, Integrations, Connected Systems
Solid understanding of Appian architecture, deployment strategies, and performance optimization
Experience with REST, SOAP, and other API integrations
Hands-on with Service-Backed Records and Record Sync
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
Appian Level 2 or Level 3 Certification
Experience in Agile / Scrum environments
