This is for a SQL + PowerBI + PowerApps role with the Power Generation organization. Job description below.

Role Summary

Client is seeking hands-on Senior Data Analytics & Power Platform Engineer to support and enhance operational reporting, asset health analytics, and workflow applications used by the team.

This role combines deep expertise in Power BI, SQL/data engineering, and full-stack Power Platform development to stabilize and modernize existing reporting and workflow solutions while delivering new digital products that replace manual, Excel-driven processes.

The consultant will provide both run support (preventive and corrective maintenance) and build capabilities, owning the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics and workflow solutions from requirements through production support.

Key Responsibilities

Stabilize, optimize, and enhance existing Microsoft Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, and KPI visualizations, improving reliability, performance, and usability

Design and develop new dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical data models supporting asset health, risk analysis, operational planning, and engineering decision-making

Build, enhance, and maintain backend data acquisition, transformation, and validation processes using SQL, ETL routines, and Power Platform integrations

Provide preventive and corrective maintenance for existing Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Power Automate solutions, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, defect resolution, and release support

Lead end-to-end development of new Power Platform products, including requirements gathering, solution design, data modeling, integration, application development, testing, security setup, deployment, and production support

Partner and act as advisor with engineering, planning, and business stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable data products and workflow solutions

Note: their "lead" experience, or "Lead leaning" experience needs to be with onshore teammates and managers, C-suite – not near or offshore leading. And don't get hung up on "lead". Trusted advisor, SME, client hand-holding, business person is what we need.

Required Qualifications

8+ years designing and supporting enterprise reporting and workflow solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SQL

Advanced experience building and optimizing Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, KPIs, and interactive dashboards

Strong SQL / T-SQL expertise, including data modeling, stored procedures, views, performance tuning, and data validation

Proven experience building Canvas Apps and integrating with Dataverse, SQL Server, SharePoint, REST APIs, and enterprise data sources

Experience owning the full application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, security, deployment, and production support

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate operational needs into practical technical solutions

Desired Skills

Experience troubleshooting and supporting production Power Platform environments

Strong experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and operational data pipelines

Experience designing intuitive UI/UX for Canvas applications

Hands-on experience with access management, role-based security, and auditability in regulated environments

Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as SAP, GIS, Maximo… operational platforms

Recent and deep Utility, asset management, or engineering analytics experience required

What Success Looks Like
