The breakdown of development versus architecture work is 70% development and 30% architecture.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect/Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and experience with data processing and analytics using BigQuery.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain robust applications and data pipelines using Java and GCP services.

Implement data processing solutions using BigQuery to support analytics and reporting needs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Utilize Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing.

Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.

Develop solutions that efficiently handle and process large transaction volumes.

Explore and implement AI technologies to automate coding tasks and improve development efficiency.

Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development practices.

Document technical specifications, processes, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 9+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java.

• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its services, particularly BigQuery.

• Proficiency in using Kafka for data streaming and processing.

• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, optimization, and management.

• Proven experience in developing solutions that process large transaction volumes efficiently.

• Familiarity with AI technologies and experience in replacing task-based work with AI solutions, including coding automation.

• Familiarity with reporting/analytical applications and operational applications.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
