Senior Java Engineer – Front Office Algo Trading

Front-office trading systems, algorithmic/electronic trading, Core Java, multithreading, concurrency, performance tuning, low-latency high-throughput distributed systems, FIX, SBE, production support, and preferably Fixed Income/FX trading workflow experience.
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a Front Office Algo Trading Development team supporting mission-critical trading systems in a hybrid role based in New York City . This role will focus on the design, development, testing, and implementation of Algo Pricing, Hedging, and Trading Automation solutions within a high-performance trading environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in front-office trading systems , algorithmic execution , and electronic trading , along with deep expertise in Core Java , multi-threading , concurrency , and performance tuning for low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems .
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in front-office trading systems
Strong background in algorithmic execution and electronic trading
Deep hands-on expertise in Core Java
Strong experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and performance tuning
Proven experience building or supporting low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
Hands-on knowledge of FIX protocol and SBE
Experience supporting mission-critical production systems in global environments
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex real-time trading environments
Preferred Skills
Experience with Fixed Income and/or FX trading workflows
Exposure to pricing, hedging, and trading automation systems
Strong testing discipline with unit testing, integration testing, and BDD/TDD mindset
Ability to work closely with traders, quants, and front-office stakeholders
Comfortable challenging architecture and contributing to technical design decisions
