Senior .NET Application Modernization Project Lead

We are seeking a Systems Software Programmer – Project Lead to support modernization and remediation of legacy administrative systems recently migrated to the Client's IT Data Center. This role focuses on upgrading platforms, ensuring compliance with security standards, and implementing industry best practices for business continuity. You'll work closely with technical staff, subject matter experts, and project managers to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Daily Responsibilities

Modernize legacy systems to ASP.NET MVC/Core environments

Modify applications for compliance with agency/state security standards (NIST 800-53, FISMA, SC InfoSec)

Migrate systems from DB2 to SQL databases

Streamline backend processes and retire mainframe forms

Perform complex programming, debugging, and Tier 2 support

Ensure system uptime, disaster recovery readiness, and browser compatibility

Collaborate on architecture design, documentation, and project milestones

Provide updates, follow SDLC best practices, and maintain Git-based source control

Required Skills (with experience expectations)

ASP.NET, MS MVC Framework, C#, Visual Studio – 7+ years

.NET Framework (4.5/4.8), JQUERY, AJAX – 5+ years

SQL & DB2 database development/migration – 5+ years

Web services integration – 5+ years

Git source control – 3+ years

RDLC Reporting, Power BI – 3+ years

Preferred Skills

Subversion (Source Control)

Experience with administrative systems (HR, financial billing, PI/PHI data security)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive working relationships

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, OR equivalent work experience
