Responsibilities

  • Manage, expand, upgrade, automate, and improve performance and sustainability for our huge Splunk environment as a hands-on engineer/architect

  • Drive implementation using Lean Agile methodology

  • Responsible for Splunk system architecture, data analytics, performance management, automation and some administration, for the Splunk deployments we manage across the enterprise

  • Interact with technology and business groups, to gather requirements, and deliver the solution

  • Develop and maintain automation tools for CI/CD workflows using Terraform, OpenShift, Bitbucket, and other tools

  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation tools into the software development lifecycle

  • Design and implement automation frameworks and processes to optimize software testing and deployment

  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure automation tools are integrated with the appropriate infrastructure components

  • Identify and address technical issues with automation tools and processes

  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation tools and processes

Requirements

  • 5+ years expert-level Splunk Architect experience

  • Well-versed with search head and indexer clustering topology

  • Hands-on shell scripting and Linux/Windows system administration experience

  • Some expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Windows scripts

  • Thorough knowledge of regular expressions

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills

  • Good communication skills and tenaciousness to drive vendors, system admins, and others to deliver solutions together

  • Creative individual with a track record of working on and implementing innovative technology solutions

  • Desired Skills:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline

  • Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, and/or AutoSys

  • Experience working in a secure, multi-data center environment

  • Experience with other monitoring tools

  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator

  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect

  • Resolving and influencing the positive outcome of conflicting objectives and priorities

  • Strong, proactive leadership capabilities inspiring fellowship

  • Ability to stimulate and participate in creative thinking for out-of-the-box solutions

  • Ability to effectively communicate, interact with and influence

  • Work effectively within a fast-paced, cohesive team
