Job Purpose:

Ensure the smooth running of the production process in assigned section of Machine Shop with improved efficiency also ensure that all direct staff comply with the company’s Health and Safety procedures and deliver products as per customer requirements.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

Planning

· Support the preparation of annual manufacturing budget for assigned section of machine shop based on customer /market requirement.

· Plan and organize daily production schedules – in assigned section.

Execution

· Ensure production in the section as per standard cycle time and monitor operator efficiency.

· Define/work out and implement standard operating procedures for machining operation in the section.

· Control all losses and monitor efficiency in the section.

· Coordinate with PPC & stores for availability of raw material and other resources for machining.

· Organize the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.

· Ensure resolution of RED tags through maintenance team.

· Ensure inventory management and matching system and physical stock.

· Execute fixture maintenance for the section.

  1. Support on NPD

· Ensure initial production lots for machining ( NPD products) audit for understanding product & related problems.

Monitoring

· Monitor customer requirement is getting produced on daily basis at assigned section of machine shop.

· Ensure on time delivery at the customer end and no line loss at assembly because of machining

· Ensure section level OEE as per target.

· Monitor Machine and manpower productivity.

· Ensure PPM levels in the section as per target.

· Review 8D reports for customer complaints.

· Ensure 4MT verification, V7 verification – taking action as needed

· Adhere to annual and monthly budget & cost monitoring for the section

· Review tool consumption and tooling cost reduction plan for the section

· Act as the TPM Circle Head (for all required TPM Pillars)

Team Management

· Monitor the Section KPIs.

· Provide training and motivation to the team for synergy development.

· Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communication tools.

· Collaborate with Assembly, PPC and Quality for ensuring timely and quality production.

  1. HSE Management

· Drive the implementation of different HSE Systems.

· Provide safe working environment in the Section.

· Ensure strict usage of PPEs wherever required.

· Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures.

  1. Continuous Improvement

· Conduct quality system review with team.

· Conduct COPQ analysis and action plan.

· Analyze defects and initiate corrective and preventive actions.

· Ensure reduction in rejection/ Scrap.

· Implement KAIZEN & continuous improvement related to cost, quality, safety and related processes.

Internal and External Audits

· Ensure internal and external audit compliance.

· Implement and conduct audits- TPM & JH, 1'S' 2'S' and process audits.
