Amazon Kindle is a revolutionary reading device and one of the most innovative and fastest growing businesses at Amazon. Amazon Kindle devices enable users to shop for, download, browse, and read e-books, newspapers, magazines, blogs via wireless networking. The E-reader team's primary role is to certify the quality of new hardware's (Amazon kindle devices), their software changes and related enhancements. The tasks handled by this group have a direct impact on reading experience of the customers with kindle devices.

Job Description:

A device associate's primary responsibility is to execute test case instructions and report discrepancies. He/she is also responsible for successful and on time delivery of results. You will support execution of tests across different devices, perform daily quality checks as per established guidelines and report deviations accurately, understand and ramp up on testing procedures, guidelines and policies for new devices and apply the same in day-to-day work to ensure it meets Amazon's high quality bar.

Roles and Responsibilities:

This includes, but is not limited to:

You test components and features related to an Amazon device, application, or service. You follow Standard Operation Procedures and execute tasks assigned to you on a daily basis.

You strive to meet productivity and quality baselines. You acquire knowledge from peers, on-the-job training, and via Device and Quality team-provided content (e.g., SharePoint, Wiki, etc.).

You use required tools and follow relevant practices that facilitate smoother operations and eliminate process dependencies.

You seek help from peers and/or your manager when instructions are unclear or if you are uncertain about a procedure. In the event of a problem, you are able to proceed when a workaround is recommended.

You perform test execution without compromising the quality they test for. You raise defects for all failures observed and track clarifications related to the execution of test instructions through pre-defined mechanisms.

You should have understanding of the functionality of the project/product. Should have the ability to stay connected with changing requirements and documentation

You track daily execution status using recommended tools and techniques, and provide individual status reports.

You report and track issues per the SLAs and defined guidelines.

You are responsible for the security and maintenance of the company assets, accessories and devices allocated to you to perform your daily operations.

You use standard tools for effort and data capture and abide by the regulatory processes defined for ensuring process compliance, confidentiality, and security.

You contribute to process improvement ideas wherever applicable in your project scope. You may assist in the development of new-hires to help them scale in their role.

Basic Qualifications:

Education Qualification: BE, B. Tech, Master of computer Applications (MCA), B.Sc. Computers, BCA, MSc Information Technology (IT)

A graduate in any field of study, Quantitative fields such as science and engineering preferred but not mandatory

Good familiarity with the Windows desktop environment and use of Word, Excel, IE, Firefox etc. are required

Flexibility and Interest to do repetitive tasks is required

High level of energy and proactive nature. A sense of ownership and drive and a willingness to accept the challenge of daily deadlines is essential

Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English language Ability to work independently with minimal (or) no supervision.

• Additional Information:

• Presently day shift. But should be flexible to work in rotational shifts if required

• Domestic Relocation Provided: No

• Shifts: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Weekly Off: Saturday and Sunday
