Role Overview: As a Principal Solution Architect in the IT Software domain at American Airlines, you will be part of a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Write, test, and document technical work products according to organizational standards and practices - Raise the quality and craftsmanship of products and systems - Conduct root cause analysis and prescribe action items to mitigate domain level problems - Design self-contained systems within a team's domain and lead implementations of significant capabilities - Anticipate scaling needs for system components and size them appropriately - Identify opportunities for better system observability and advocate for prioritization - Partner with the security organization to improve team security practices - Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering leaders and business counterparts - Contribute guidance, patterns, and reference implementations for adopted technologies - Identify opportunities for introducing new approaches to problems in the environment Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training - 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments - Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training (Preferred) - Airline Industry experience (Preferred) Additional Details: American Airlines is transforming the way it delivers technology to its customers and team members worldwide.
