Role Overview: As a Sr Associate Engineer, IT Software at American Airlines, you will be part of a diverse, high-performing team dedicated to technical excellence. The Software domain you will work in encompasses the development, deployment, management, and maintenance of software applications supporting business processes and user needs. Your role will involve writing, testing, and documenting technical work products according to organizational standards, debugging problems, designing and enhancing architectures, maintaining reliability, identifying and correcting issues affecting operational performance, following secure coding practices, and identifying automation opportunities for team performance improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Write, test, and document technical work products (e.g., code, scripts, processes) following organizational standards - Produce good quality technical work products that are clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others - Efficiently debug design-time and run-time problems, identify issues with system components affecting performance, and apply secure coding practices - Design current implementations and provide enhancements to existing architectures to maintain reliability, security, and performance - Identify and correct issues affecting operational reliability, stability, and performance - Identify opportunities for automation to improve team performance - Capitalize on opportunities for simplification Qualifications Required: - Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training - 1+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments - Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training - Airline Industry experience Additional Details: American Airlines is transforming the way it delivers technology to its customers and team members worldwide.
