About the role
Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in either Mechanical, Maritime, Electrical or Chemical Engineering and 3 years of engineering work experience, to include one year of Power Generation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Process Engineering or Operations, or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering (with a Bachelors degree in applied science (Physics, Chemistry) and 3 years of engineering work experience, to include one year of Power Generation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Process Engineering or Operations.
Preferred Education/Experience Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering (with a Bachelors degree in applied science (Physics, Chemistry) and 3 years of engineering work experience, to include one year of Power Generation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Process Engineering or Operations.
Relevant Work Experience Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, required. Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with employees at all organizational levels, required. Working knowledge of computer systems and engineering software applications, required. Ability to lead initiatives independently and provide technical oversight and guidance to department personnel, required. Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple assignments and deliver timely results, required. Knowledgeable in basic engineering design and principles, required. Ability to write specifications and standards and coordinate engineering projects and assignments, preferred.
Skills and Abilities Demonstrated analytical skills

Physical Demands Ability to respond to system emergencies Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations Ability to climb ladders and stairs Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces) Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to travel both regionally and continent-wide, to attend conferences, meetings, etc. as needed.
