About the Role We are looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to lead the integration, tuning, and validation of electric powertrain systems at the vehicle level. This role sits at the intersection of motors, motor controllers, vehicle algorithms, and real-world performance—owning the end-to-end behaviour of the powertrain from component to vehicle. You will work closely with motor and controller suppliers, internal software and hardware teams, manufacturing, and service to ensure robust performance, reliability, and a great rider/driver experience. Key Responsibilities Powertrain Integration & Tuning Integrate electric motors and motor controllers into the vehicle powertrain architecture Tune motor and controller parameters for performance, efficiency, thermal behaviour, and drivability Collaborate directly with motor and inverter suppliers on calibration, debugging, and issue resolution Define and validate motor-controller interfaces (CAN, signals, diagnostics, safety states) Vehicle-Level Control & Algorithms Develop, integrate, and validate vehicle-level powertrain features such as: Ride Modes, Hill Hold, Park Assist, Traction Control, Regenerative Braking, etc. Ensure seamless interaction between powertrain controls and chassis, braking, and safety systems Support requirements definition, system behaviour modelling, and validation plans Testing & Validation Design, build, and maintain powertrain and vehicle-level test setups (HIL, bench, dyno, vehicle) Execute and analyze performance, durability, and fault-injection testing Lead root-cause analysis for system-level issues across hardware, software, and controls Define acceptance criteria and sign-off readiness for production releases Manufacturing & Field Support Support factory teams during pilot builds, ramp-up, and production issues Provide technical support to service and field teams for powertrain-related failures Analyze field data and returned components to drive corrective actions Improve diagnostics, fault handling, and serviceability of the powertrain system Documentation & Cross-Functional Leadership Maintain system documentation, calibration records, and test reports Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on integration best practices Act as a system owner for assigned powertrain features from concept through production Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field Strong hands-on experience with: Motor controllers and electric motors Motor tuning and calibration CAN-based systems and vehicle networks Solid understanding of control systems, vehicle dynamics, and powertrain safety concepts Comfortable working hands-on with vehicles, test setups, and lab equipment Knowledge of functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 or similar) Familiarity with HIL systems, dynamometers, and data analysis tools
