As a Principal Engineer specializing in MySQL Database Administration, your role will involve maintaining existing MySQL environments, which includes managing large replication environments for data mining and mid-sized High Availability environments. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing database designs for new applications, troubleshooting database issues, and ensuring the availability and scalability of database systems. Additionally, you will be expected to recommend tools and processes for the identification and management of database infrastructure components. To excel in this role, you should have experience in the installation methods of MySQL and possess strong general system administration skills on UNIX/HP, Linux, and AWS Linux. Your expertise in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Client/Server Connectivity, and Database Consistency Checks using various Utilities will be crucial for success. Experience with AWS RDS, AWS backup, Replication, and snapshot is essential, and familiarity with working on the AWS Console will be advantageous. Being a good team player with excellent analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills is also key to thriving in this position.
