About the role
[About the Role] Join our dynamic team in Palmdale, CA as a Design Engineer specializing in aircraft hardware integration and final assembly. You’ll play a vital part in shaping the future of advanced aerospace systems, working hands-on with flight hardware and leveraging your expertise to drive quality and innovation. [Responsibilities]
- Lead hardware integration and oversee final assembly processes, ensuring seamless liaison between engineering and production teams.
- Review and validate engineering models and technical drawings to ensure producibility and design integrity.
- Identify and resolve design errors, omissions, and deficiencies, recommending effective improvements to enhance product quality.
- Define operational procedures and build sequences within a model-based engineering environment (3DX), optimizing assembly and service techniques.
- Provide critical input on design concepts and specifications to maximize equipment utilization and operational efficiency.
- Initiate and drive corrective actions to address engineering and production challenges.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Minimum 10 years’ hands-on experience in aircraft sub-systems or structures assembly and integration.
- Demonstrated background in development, prototype, or first article program support and new product introduction.
- Advanced proficiency in 3DX or Catia V5 software.
- In-depth experience reviewing engineering models and technical drawings for new design producibility.
- Applied aircraft experience in production support, maintenance, or testing.
- Proven ability to work independently, make critical program decisions, and thrive in a collaborative IPT environment.

- On-vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems
- Liaison engineering expertise
- Direct production/shop floor support with hands-on manufacturing operations
- Authoring manufacturing assembly work instructions
- Jet engine integration, service, and maintenance knowledge
- Wire harness and interconnect installation/integration
- Aircraft fuel systems experience
- Metallic part machining familiarity
- Delmia software proficiency
- Aviation maintenance credentials (A&P license or similar)
- Engineering degree
