About the role
[About the Role] Indotronix is seeking an experienced Structures & Payload Design Engineer Level 4 for an onsite, 6-month contract in North Charleston, SC. Join a dynamic aerospace environment, providing engineering leadership and support in aircraft interiors and cargo systems. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals ready to collaborate with cross-functional teams, interact directly with suppliers and airlines, and play a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance and product excellence.
[Responsibilities]
- Provide project leadership and advanced engineering support within a production system
- Engage directly with aerospace suppliers and airline customers to ensure requirements are met
- Validate and demonstrate compliance with FAA/EASA regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies on certification and integration activities
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and recommend process improvements
- Design, integrate, and certify aircraft cargo compartment and handling systems
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams as needed
- Deliver presentations and technical information to diverse stakeholders
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET Accredited; Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- Minimum 9 years of relevant engineering experience in design, integration, or certification (advanced degrees considered)
- Proficiency in CATIA, PDM, Enovia, 3D CAD tools, and CSDT
- Strong background in aerospace structures and interiors
[Preferred Skills]
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA regulations
- Experience with aerospace materials, design criteria, and release processes
- Proven track record of leading proposals, project schedules, and risk management
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical communication skills
