Automation Testing - Backend

Greenbots Software is looking for a detail-oriented backend automation tester to join their team on a 6-month contractual basis, with the possibility of extension. This fully remote role based in Bengaluru is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of experience who enjoys building robust test suites for APIs and web applications. You'll collaborate closely with developers and QA to ensure high-quality releases. Responsibilities: Design and develop automated test scripts focused on API testing and backend services using tools like REST Assured and Postman.Work alongside developers and QA analysts to understand feature requirements and define effective test strategies and scenarios.Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks to improve scalability and reusability across different projects.Execute regression, integration, and performance tests, then analyse results to identify defects and provide clear, actionable feedback.Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions to enable continuous quality assurance.Validate database integrity and data flow using SQL queries, ensuring backend logic works as expected.Requirements: Proficiency in Java and JavaScript, with solid experience in automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, and REST Assured for API testing.Strong understanding of API testing (Postman, Rest Assured, Karate) and hands-on experience with SQL for backend data validation.Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and the SDLC.Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with effective cross-team communication.Who Should Apply: This role is perfect for a quality-focused engineer who enjoys digging into backend logic, writing clean automated tests, and collaborating in a fast-paced agile environment.
