About the role
This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing Microsoft System Center environments to ensure reliable IT operations. You'll design monitoring solutions, automate routine tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues. It's a hands-on position for someone who enjoys improving infrastructure efficiency and service reliability. Responsibilities: Deploy and configure System Center components to meet monitoring and management needs.Create and maintain PowerShell scripts and runbooks to automate routine operations and incident response.Keep a close watch on system health, performance, and capacity, addressing potential issues before they escalate.Work with security and network teams to integrate alerts, patch management, and compliance checks across the environment.Handle tier-2/3 support for System Center alerts, incidents, and service requests, ensuring quick resolution.Document configurations, standard operating procedures, and knowledge-base articles to share expertise across the team.Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support to maintain round-the-clock service availability.Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to boost efficiency and reliability.Requirements: 5 to 6 years of practical experience managing Microsoft System Center (Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, Orchestrator, Service Manager).Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V or VMware), and core networking concepts.Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and familiarity with automation tools or frameworks.Solid understanding of ITIL processes and experience in setting up monitoring and incident workflows.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Relevant certifications like MCSA, MCSE, or System Center certifications are highly valued.Who Should Apply: This role is ideal for an experienced system engineer who enjoys hands-on work with Microsoft System Center and thrives in a collaborative environment.
