SAP Functional Consultant

We are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant who has evolved into SAP Testing and Test

Automation. This is not a pure testing role. The ideal candidate should have spent several years working as a

hands-on SAP Functional Consultant in implementation projects before moving into SAP testing and automation.

The candidate should possess deep business process knowledge, understand SAP configuration and integration,

and be capable of translating business requirements into comprehensive manual and automated test scenarios.

They will work closely with customers, implementation teams, and automation engineers to ensure high-quality

SAP transformations while accelerating testing through automation.

Candidate should have experience in activities like:

• Conducting business process workshops

• Preparing Functional Specifications (FSDs)

• Performing SAP configuration/customization

• Supporting RICEFW developments

• Coordinating with ABAP and technical teams

• Supporting data migration and cutover activities

• Performing configuration validation

• Supporting SIT, UAT and Go-Live activities

Core Responsibilities

1. SAP Functional Consulting

Participate in SAP implementation, rollout, enhancement, and support projects by:

• Understanding customer business processes and requirements

• Supporting SIT, UAT and Go-Live activities

1. SAP Business Process Expertise

Understand and validate end-to-end SAP business processes across multiple functional areas.

Design functional scenarios covering:

• Standard business processes

• Cross-functional integration

• Exception handling

• Business validations

• Negative scenarios

• End-to-end process flows

Collaborate with business users to ensure processes align with business objectives.

1. SAP Functional Testing

Design and execute:

• Functional Testing

• Integration Testing (SIT)

• Regression Testing

• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Smoke Testing

Responsibilities include

• • Preparing test strategies

• • Writing test scenarios

• • Creating detailed test cases

• • Executing tests

• • Defect identification and root cause analysis

• • Working with functional and development teams for issue resolution

1. SAP Test Automation

• Identify automation opportunities within SAP business processes.

• Work with automation teams to:

• • Convert manual test cases into automated tests

• • Validate automated test execution

• • Maintain regression suites

• • Improve automation coverage

• • Support continuous testing initiatives

• Experience with Qyrus is highly preferred. Experience with other SAP automation platforms is acceptable.

1. Customer Collaboration

• Work directly with:

• • Automation Engineers

• Participate in:

• • Requirement discussions

• • Solution walkthroughs

• • Test planning workshops

• Mandatory Experience

• SAP Functional Consulting

• • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on SAP Functional Consulting experience.

• • Must have participated in one or more SAP implementation projects in a functional consulting capacity.

• • Must have performed configuration and business process design activities.

• Candidate should have hands-on experience in activities such as:

• • Business requirement gathering

• • Business process mapping

• • SAP configuration/customization

• • Preparing Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)

• • Coordinating RICEFW developments

• • Functional unit testing

• • Configuration validation

• • Integration testing support

• • User Acceptance Testing support

• • Cutover and Go-Live activities

• • Hypercare/support after deployment

• SAP Testing

• • Minimum 2 years of SAP Functional Testing experience.

• Experience preparing and executing:

• • SIT

• • UAT

• • Regression Testing

• • End-to-End Business Process Testing

• SAP Test Automation

• • Minimum 1 year of experience working with SAP Test Automation.

• • Experience creating, executing, or maintaining automated SAP test cases.

• • Good understanding of automation lifecycle and regression suite management.

• Preferred SAP Functional Modules

• Strong experience in one or more of:

• • Project Systems (PS)

• • Plant Maintenance (PM)

• • Sales & Distribution (SD)

• • Finance (FI)

• Exposure to MM, PP, QM, EAM, or Asset Management is an added advantage.

• Preferred Industry Experience

• Candidates with implementation experience in the following industries will be preferred:
