Senior Oracle DBA (Application DBA Focus)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to join our

Infrastructure Services team supporting a large-scale enterprise Oracle

environment. The role requires hands-on expertise in Oracle production

databases, Oracle RAC environments, database performance, capacity

management, and operational support. The ideal candidate should be

capable of independently managing day-to-day database administration

activities and collaborating with internal and external DBA teams in a

mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

• Administer and support Oracle production databases in enterprise

environments.

• Monitor database health, availability, and performance.

• Perform database maintenance and operational support activities.

• Troubleshoot database issues and coordinate resolution with platform

DBA teams when required.

Application DBA Functions

• Manage database objects, schemas, users, and permissions.

• Perform tablespace and storage administration.

• Handle database capacity planning and space utilization analysis.

• Support data migration and database consolidation initiatives.

Performance & SQL Optimization

• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues.

• Review and optimize SQL queries.

• Identify bottlenecks and recommend performance improvements.

• Work closely with development teams on database-related concerns.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Support Oracle RAC environments.

• Monitor and maintain Oracle Data Guard configurations.

• Participate in high-availability planning and operational

activities.

• Assist in failover, switchover, and DR validation activities.

Operational Support

• Participate in scheduled maintenance and change implementation

activities.

• Support maintenance windows and planned infrastructure changes.

• Follow established change management and operational processes.

• Collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, and vendor

teams.

Required Technical Skills

Mandatory Skills

• Strong Oracle Database Administration experience.

• Hands-on experience supporting Oracle Production Databases.

• Good understanding of Oracle RAC architecture and concepts.

• Experience with database space management and capacity planning.

• Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills.

• Working knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.

• Performance monitoring and tuning experience.

• Experience handling production incidents and change activities.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Oracle High Availability solutions.

• Experience working with large enterprise database environments.

• Exposure to database migration and consolidation projects.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (nice to have).

• Familiarity with infrastructure environments supporting Oracle

workloads.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience (flexible based on

demonstrated expertise).

• Proven experience supporting production Oracle environments.

• Experience working in RAC-based environments.

• Experience interacting with multiple support and vendor teams
