Data Architect – Databricks Health care
Location: Remote Duration: Contract Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Databricks to design and implement scalable, cloud-native data platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in modern data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, Lakehouse architecture, and enterprise data governance. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver secure, high-performance, and enterprise-scale data solutions. Required Skills 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks , PySpark , and Spark SQL . Strong expertise in Lakehouse Architecture and Delta Lake . Experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) . Strong knowledge of Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical & Physical). Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development and optimization. Strong SQL, Python, and PySpark programming skills. Experience with Delta Live Tables (DLT) , Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows. Knowledge of Data Warehousing , Data Lakes, and Cloud Data Platforms. Experience with Snowflake is preferred. Cloud experience with Azure , AWS , or GCP . Strong understanding of Data Governance , Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Data Quality. Experience integrating APIs, batch processing, and real-time streaming (Kafka/Spark Streaming). CI/CD experience using Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Terraform. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and solution design skills. Key Responsibilities Design enterprise-scale Databricks Lakehouse architectures. Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL. Build and optimize Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables (DLT), and Medallion Architecture. Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Lead cloud migration and legacy data modernization initiatives. Implement enterprise data governance, security, and metadata frameworks. Optimize performance, scalability, and cloud costs. Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver trusted data solutions. Mentor data engineers and establish architecture standards and best practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Insurance domains. Exposure to Master Data Management (MDM) . Experience with dbt , Kafka, Airflow, or DataOps. Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Data Architect certification is a plus
