ServiceNow ITAM Architect

ServiceNow ITAM Architect (Remote) We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) Architect to lead the architecture, design, and enterprise rollout of ServiceNow ITAM capabilities (HAM/SAM) across a complex, global environment. This role partners with IT leadership, security, procurement, and operations to ensure accurate asset visibility, strong governance, and measurable cost optimization through compliant software and hardware lifecycle management. Location & Work Mode This is a Remote position. Candidates may work from anywhere within the United States, collaborating with distributed teams across multiple time zones. Key Responsibilities Architect end-to-end ServiceNow ITAM solutions, including SAM Pro/HAM Pro, CMDB alignment, discovery, normalization, and lifecycle workflows. Define ITAM target-state architecture, data model, integrations, and governance to support hardware and software compliance, audit readiness, and financial optimization. Lead implementations and enhancements: requirements workshops, solution design, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release management in an Agile/Scrum environment. Design and oversee integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., SCCM/MECM, Intune, JAMF, Tanium, AD/Azure AD, procurement/ERP such as SAP/Oracle) using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers. Establish CMDB/ITAM data quality controls (reconciliation, de-duplication, normalization, lifecycle states), KPIs, and automated controls for continuous compliance. Implement SAM compliance and optimization processes: license position, entitlements, usage reclamation, true-up support, and audit response playbooks. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers/administrators; enforce platform best practices for performance, security, and maintainability (Scoped Apps, ATF, CI/CD). Collaborate with Security and Risk to ensure secure configurations, role-based access, segregation of duties, and alignment with ITIL and internal controls. Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow architecture/lead roles, focused on ITAM (SAM/HAM) at enterprise scale. Deep expertise in ServiceNow ITAM Suite (SAM Pro/HAM Pro), CMDB/CSDM concepts, Discovery, Service Mapping, and software normalization. Strong ServiceNow platform skills: Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, MID Server architecture, Script Includes/Business Rules, ACLs, Performance Analytics, and Reporting. Integration experience with endpoint/asset tools (MECM/SCCM, Intune, JAMF, Tanium) and procurement/ERP platforms (SAP/Oracle), including REST/SOAP and data transformation. Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident/Problem/Change) and how ITAM interacts with ITSM, procurement, and financial management. Experience driving governance, operating models, and stakeholder management across IT, Security, Finance/Procurement, and audit teams. Ability to produce architecture artifacts (HLD/LLD, integration diagrams, data flows), and lead technical decision-making and design reviews. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred ServiceNow certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – Software Asset Management and/or Hardware Asset Management. Additional preferred: ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), ITIL 4 Foundation, or equivalent IT service management certification. Salary Range Estimated salary range for a U.S.-based remote role: $150,000 – $190,000 USD per year (base), plus potential bonus depending on experience and location.
