You are a Network Engineer who will be responsible for providing timely responses to incidents, outages, and performance alerts. Your key responsibilities will include: - Categorizing issues for escalation to appropriate technical teams - Recognizing, identifying, and prioritizing incidents according to business requirements - Collecting and reviewing performance reports for various systems - Monitoring a wide variety of information and network systems - Documenting all actions in accordance with company policies - Notifying customers and third-party service providers of issues and outages - Working with internal and external technical teams to create and update knowledge base articles - Performing basic systems testing and operational tasks - Supporting multiple technical teams in 24 x 7 operational environments To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field - Experience supporting and monitoring network systems, servers, or storage in an enterprise environment - Understanding of key network monitoring protocols - Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and Cisco network devices - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills - Thorough understanding of TCP/IP, networking concepts, and internet protocols - Proficiency in Event Correlation and Analysis - Ability to absorb technical information quickly - Understanding of security gateways, VPNs, and networking concepts - Networking/router Certified/Trained - Strong customer communication skills Preferred qualifications include basic Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications, experience monitoring VMWare clusters, broad experience with monitoring and ticket management tools, and providing remote support using virtual desktop tools.
