Fabrication Planning Engineer

The Fabrication Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating fabrication processes to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects. This includes preparing detailed fabrication schedules, managing material procurement, collaborating with design and production teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The role requires strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, and project management principles. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning Scheduling Develop detailed fabrication schedules aligned with overall project timelines. Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and production teams to prepare work plans. Ensure availability of resources (materials, tools, manpower) to meet project milestones. 2. Material Resource Management Determine material requirements and prepare requisitions in coordination with procurement teams. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely delivery of materials to prevent delays. 3. Technical Oversight Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to define fabrication requirements. Coordinate with the design team to resolve technical queries and ensure drawing accuracy. 4. Cost Control Budgeting Monitor fabrication costs to ensure adherence to budget constraints. Implement cost-effective methods to optimize resources without compromising quality. 5. Risk Management Identify potential risks in fabrication planning and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. 6. Progress Monitoring Reporting Track progress of fabrication activities and identify deviations from schedules. Prepare and present regular project status updates to stakeholders, highlighting challenges or delays. Conduct post-project analysis to improve future planning processes. Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in fabrication planning, production engineering, or project management. Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, materials, and tools. Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent). Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
