About the role
Diploma or Bachelor s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering NDT Level II certification SSFM Group | Top Fabrication and Manufacturing Fabrication Yard NDT Engineer - SSFM Job Description Job Description: Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on welded steel structures, pipes, and components fabricated at the yard, using methods like Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Radiography Testing (RT) , etc. Review fabrication drawings and welding procedures (WPS/PQR) to plan and schedule inspections. Prepare and maintain detailed NDT inspection reports, defect logs, and traceability documents . Evaluate test results to identify defects and advise fabrication and welding teams on corrective actions and rework . Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, client specifications, and quality plans during fabrication. Coordinate with third-party inspectors, QA/QC teams, and client representatives for inspection hold points and approvals. Oversee calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment and ensure proper functioning. Support internal training and awareness sessions for welders and fabricators on defect prevention and NDT requirements. Experience: Proven experience in NDT testing within a heavy fabrication yard , preferably in structural steel, piping, or pressure vessels. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering. Valid NDT Level II certification (UT, MPT, DPT, RT). Skills Required Diploma or Bachelor s degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, NDT Level II certification Dindora (Warora) Education/Qualification Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
