Apex Systems combines with parent company On Assignment to make it the 2nd largest IT staffing agency in the country. Apex has an opportunity for IT Manager role. This is a7+ month contract opportunity. Here are the details: Key Responsibilities: • The Development Manager will oversee all project activities, with primary responsibility for managing project sub teams (Business Analysis, Development, Quality Assurance, Testing, etc.) in the execution of project activities. • The Development Manager will also interface with client staff at all levels to plan project activities, develop risk mitigation plans, resolve daily issues, and report to both GCOM and Client Executive Management on project progress. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related degree • Minimum 8 years’ experience managing large-scale software implementation projects, similar in scope, size, and complexity. • Complete Project Management responsibility on at least 3 prior large-scale projects in a public sector (government) environment • Prior experience managing complex teams of 15-25 resources • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal • Demonstrated experience managing direct and sub-contracted resources • Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and utilizing Microsoft Project Plans to control daily work activities tracking / forecasting project schedules and budgets. • Ability and willingness to produce examples of previously produced project artifacts including Microsoft Project Plans, Executive and Team Status Reports, Risk and Issue Logs, Project Change Controls, etc. (during interview process) • Demonstrated experience in managing Project financials. • Experience in Project management tools like JIRA, ALM, Microsoft Office tools including VISIO • Project Management Institute Certification • Prior experience management COTS based projects
