About the role
Position : Network Consulting Engineer Location: Dallas, TX Hybrid Duration: 12+ month contract Must Have : CISCO IOS,Cisco Certifications: CCNP R/S, CCNA are required Our customer, one of the Nation's leading Telecommunication and services companies is looking for a Cisco Network Consultant to support an ongoing managed support project for one of their clients. In this role you will join a team of engineers providing day-2 support to their client's Cisco Network Systems and serving as an advisor to their IT support teams and users. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a consultative environment and have expert level experience/understanding of Cisco Networking and end-to-end network knowledge. Key Roles & Responsibilities: • Troubleshooting & trouble isolation of Network and Hardware issues within a complex core Cisco enterprise networking environment. • Configuration and Implementation support of new or existing customer equipment to their data network and integration to other services. • Working with Project Lead and engineering team, cross-functional team members, Account Executives (Sales) and customer stake-holders and users. • Identifying, responding, and resolving customer escalations and requests. • Experience with Cisco iOS and various routing and access layer models. • Effective at merging customer SOP requirements to be in line with network abilities and procedures. • Understanding and adapting to customer's change management policies and procedures. • Experience developing post cut process and procedures • Ability to leverage Network diagrams, leverage network devices, learning/understanding how routing takes place in order to bench mark the appropriate way to troubleshoot. • Extensive understanding of Networking Protocols, ability to access control desks, knowledge of IP, DHCP, and broadcasting addresses. • VMware experience - ability to understand how VMware interacts and impacts the Network. • Understand how a voice and data integrated system communicates with hardware. • Security/Firewall experience and understanding how to secure a network from a route/switch perspective. • Cisco ICE experience = plus • Microsoft Networking and ability o trouble shoot PC or Server problems as it relates to accessing the Network. • Must be comfortable returning to customer's onsite location, once it is deemed safe by state and local authorities and under proper conditions.
