As a Cerner Patient Accounting Specialist at Optum, your role involves supporting and enhancing Cerner Patient Accounting workflows to improve health outcomes for millions of people. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting and enhancing Cerner Patient Accounting workflows such as billing, claims, payments, adjustments, follow-ups, and AR management - Configuring and maintaining PA components such as billing entities, financial classes, charge rules, write-offs, and transactions - Analyzing business requirements and translating them into Cerner PA configuration and functional solutions - Performing incident management, root cause analysis, and defect resolution for PA-related issues - Supporting upgrades, domain moves, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and go-live activities - Collaborating with Revenue Cycle, Patient Financial Services (PFS), Compliance, and Technical teams - Developing and maintaining functional documentation, workflows, and configuration guides - Validating data accuracy and ensuring compliance with healthcare billing standards and organizational policies - Providing end-user support, training, and knowledge transfer as needed Additionally, you will be required to comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies, procedures, and any directives. Required qualifications for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) - 4+ years of hands-on experience with Cerner Patient Accounting - Experience with billing, claims processing, AR, cash posting, and adjustments - Solid understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) processes - Proven ability to analyze complex workflows and recommend system improvements - Proven solid communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and business teams The shift timing for this role is from 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight IST).
