Role Overview We are seeking a highly capable DevOps Engineer who brings both technical depth and operational maturity to a fast-moving delivery environment. The successful candidate will own the infrastructure, pipelines, and tooling that allow development teams to ship software reliably, securely, and at scale. This is not a support role. This is a position for someone who designs systems, sets standards, and takes accountability for the reliability of the platforms their colleagues depend on every day. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that serve multiple development teams across varied environments and release cadences Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using infrastructure-as-code tools with a focus on repeatability, security, and cost efficiency Implement and oversee containerization strategies using Docker and orchestrate workloads through Kubernetes in production environments Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, identifying potential issues proactively before they become incidents Partner with development and security teams to embed DevSecOps practices into the software delivery lifecycle from the earliest stages Lead incident response processes, including root cause analysis and clear post-mortem documentation Define and enforce infrastructure standards, runbook procedures, and environment governance policies Evaluate and introduce tooling improvements that meaningfully reduce toil and increase delivery velocity Mentor team members on infrastructure and platform topics, elevating the overall technical capability of the delivery organization Required Qualifications 7 or more years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or related infrastructure roles Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform, with AWS strongly preferred Hands-on production experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes in live, production-grade environments Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms Solid scripting and automation skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document technical decisions clearly Preferred Qualifications AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent cloud certification Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd Familiarity with GitOps workflows and tools such as ArgoCD or Flux Background in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industry environments Experience supporting large-scale multi-region or multi-cloud deployments What to Expect at Vertraus When you work through Vertraus, you are not just filling a seat.
