Role Overview We are looking for a detail-driven and technically confident Quality Engineer to join a delivery team that takes software quality seriously at every stage of the development process. The right candidate brings a genuine passion for finding what is broken before it reaches users, a structured approach to test planning and execution, and the automation skills to build frameworks that scale with the product. This role sits at the intersection of technical rigor and collaborative delivery, and we are looking for someone who thrives in that space. Key Responsibilities Define, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across multiple application layers Build and maintain robust automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, or equivalent platforms Engage early in the development cycle, participating in requirements and design reviews to identify quality risks before a single line of code is written Create clear, reproducible bug reports and work collaboratively with developers to drive defects through to verified resolution Develop and maintain API test suites using tools such as Postman, REST-Assured, or equivalent, validating both contract and behavior Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing processes, working directly with business stakeholders and end users during final validation phases Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, representing the quality perspective throughout Track and report on test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness in a format that gives leadership clear visibility Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tooling, and coverage standards across the team Required Qualifications 6 to 8 years of professional experience in quality engineering or software testing roles Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks in production delivery environments Proficiency with at least one major test automation tool including Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or TestNG Strong knowledge of software development and testing methodologies including SDLC, STLC, and Agile quality practices API testing experience using Postman, REST-Assured, SoapUI, or comparable tools Experience with defect tracking and project management platforms such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar Excellent analytical thinking with a structured, evidence-based approach to identifying, documenting, and communicating issues Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications ISTQB certification or equivalent quality engineering credential Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution Knowledge of security testing fundamentals and OWASP testing principles Prior experience working in a consulting or multi-client delivery environment What to Expect at Vertraus Quality Engineers placed by Vertraus are embedded in delivery teams where their expertise carries real weight.
