Registered Architect (RA)

Position Overview The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing architectural construction documents for Port Authority Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) and design audits to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and Port Authority technical standards. Previous experience with PANYNJ TAA reviews is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Review and process electronic Tenant Alteration Application (TAA) submissions from start to finish.

Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, calculations, life safety analyses, and reports for code compliance and completeness.

Coordinate review comments from multiple technical disciplines and prepare correspondence for line departments.

Participate in meetings with tenant Architects/Engineers of Record to discuss comments and resolve code-related issues.

Communicate and coordinate with Port Authority facilities regarding TAA and design audit projects.

Serve as the liaison between PA tenants, facilities, and internal reviewers to ensure an efficient review process.

Required Qualifications Active Registered Architect (RA) license in New York and/or New Jersey ( Required ).

Bachelor's degree in Architecture.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in building codes and system design.

Strong knowledge of architectural design and construction related to transportation and associated facilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and acting as a liaison between various parties.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with SharePoint and eBuilder is preferred.

Additional Requirements Must be able to pass a high-level security background screening, including TWIC, SWAC, and SIDA clearances.

Prior experience with PANYNJ Tenant Alteration Applications (TAA) is highly preferred.

Note: An active Registered Architect (RA) license in the State of New York and/or New Jersey is mandatory for this position.
