As a Design Engineer at Weatherford, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design of mechanical components and systems in the Oil & Gas industry. Your role will involve conceptual design, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. Strong technical capability, project handling skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders are essential for this position. Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as INVENTOR, Creo, and DraftSight/AutoCAD. - Perform routine engineering tasks including material selection, tolerance studies, and verification of designs by applicable standards. - Develop and review engineering layouts to ensure compliance with design specifications. - Execute specific engineering assignments for new or existing products within predefined design parameters. - Prepare and update engineering design documentation, drawings, and technical files. - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, CAD Analysts, Team Leads, and Project Leads to meet project requirements. - Identify and resolve routine engineering issues independently, escalating complex issues to senior engineers when necessary. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. - Minimum 6 years of experience as a mechanical/design engineer in the oil & gas industry. - Experience in Wireline Tools, Drilling Services, or Downhole Equipment is highly preferred. - Strong engineering fundamentals with excellent knowledge of mechanical design principles, calculations, materials, and industry standards. - Prior experience in a manufacturing setup or working with manufacturing engineering teams. - Practical proficiency in CAD software such as INVENTOR, Creo, DraftSight/AutoCAD, and Windchill will be advantageous.
