As a Principal Mechanical Engineer specializing in Well Completion Products (WCP) in the oil & gas industry, you will play a crucial role in leading the design, development, and optimization of WCP products while ensuring compliance with API, ISO, and customer specifications. Your responsibilities will include: - Serving as a technical authority for mechanical design, development, and optimization of Well Completion Products - Leading complex product development and technology advancement initiatives from concept through qualification and field deployment - Providing expert engineering judgment to resolve highly complex technical issues related to structural integrity, seal performance, pressure containment, and downhole reliability - Driving design improvements and cost optimization through root cause failure analysis, reliability studies, and component redesign - Conducting advanced engineering calculations, simulations, and FEA to validate product performance under extreme downhole conditions - Anticipating potential failure modes, recommending design mitigations, and implementing robust engineering solutions based on field and manufacturing feedback - Leading feasibility studies, technical risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for new and upgraded WCP technologies - Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, manufacturable, and scalable product designs - Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior and senior engineers to build strong technical capability and succession readiness - Supporting customer and field troubleshooting activities as a subject matter expert for critical completion tool applications In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also champion Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSE) excellence, embed safety-by-design principles into all WCP products, ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Your qualifications should include: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's Degree / PhD preferred) - 15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, product design, and technical leadership - Extensive experience in oil & gas, specifically Well Completion Products - Proficiency in CAD & Engineering Software (Creo / SolidWorks / NX or equivalent), FEA & Simulation Tools, and Engineering Calculations & Design Automation Tools Your additional highlights include strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, a self-driven, research-oriented, and innovation-focused mindset, and contributions to technical forums, publications, or industry conferences (preferred). You should be willing to travel 10-25% (domestic and international) as part of this role.
