About the role
Role Overview: You will be responsible for the end-to-end design of mechanical components and systems, starting from conceptual design and CAD modeling to prototyping, testing, and providing manufacturing support. Your role will involve showcasing strong technical capabilities, project handling skills, and collaborative work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will need to identify and resolve routine engineering issues independently and escalate complex problems to senior engineers when necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Design mechanical components and systems, including conceptual design, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. - Demonstrate strong technical capability, project handling skills, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders. - Identify and resolve routine engineering issues independently; escalate complex problems to senior engineers. - Support new product development and enhancements to existing systems by applying foundational engineering principles, industry standards, and internal procedures. - Proficiency in mechanical design, 3D/2D CAD modeling, engineering documentation, and product data management. - Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software like INVENTOR, Creo, DraftSight/AutoCAD, Windchill PLM. - Perform routine engineering tasks such as material selection, tolerance studies, and verification of designs. - Prepare and update engineering design documentation, drawings, and technical files. - Support Windchill activities like data loading, model cleanup, and part file management. - Provide regular status and progress reports; complete tasks within defined timelines while ensuring optimal productivity and quality. - Collaborate effectively with CAD Analysts, Team Leads, and Project Leads to meet project requirements. - Ensure compliance with safety rules, engineering standards, and company policies. - Define project scope, timelines, and monitor progress for timely delivery. - Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, and clients to optimize designs for production. - Maintain technical documentation, including assembly instructions, BOMs, and compliance reports. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. - Minimum 8-10 years of relevant industry experience. - Strong knowledge of the Design domain and INVENTOR software. - Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably within Wireline or Drilling services.
