About the role
Role Overview: As a Java Full stack developer in the GM IT department focusing on Trade Processing, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a middle office application for EQD booking, position management, trade flow, and workflow management. Your role will involve working on complex software systems and exploring new development opportunities to meet changing business needs. Key Responsibilities: - Design, architect, and code complex software and systems - Demonstrate proficiency in exploratory development - Propose new technical solutions and best practices, and present ideas to stakeholders - Contribute to Continuous Improvement and DevOps initiatives - Perform code and design reviews - Conduct brown bag sessions and coach and mentor team members Qualification Required: - Must have Java knowledge, including Spring framework, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, and familiarity with control structures, access modifiers, exception handling, generics, Enums, Data Type formatters, StringBuilder, StringBuffer, Synchronized, ArrayList, Set, and HashMap, among others - Good to have knowledge of Java8/11/17/21 functional programming methods, collections, various sorting algorithms, and regular expressions - Hands-on experience with ThreadLocal data, Dynamic proxies, Java memory model, concurrent collections, CompletableFuture, Reflection, Custom Serialization, Executor Service, caching libraries, and more - Experience in business rule manager systems, preferably IBM Jrules or IBM ODM rules - Knowledge of SQL programming, database design, normalization, and performance optimization - Basic understanding of Tomcat/WebLogic, including server configuration, setup, and performance tuning - Familiarity with IBM MQSeries/JMS, messaging systems, and web services implementation - Understanding of XML, XSD, and XSLT, including creating and validating XML, modifying XSLT, and parsing XML using DOM/SAM parser Additional Details: The role requires you to work effectively in a dynamic environment, collaborating with stakeholders and contributing to technical discussions. You will be expected to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge in Java development, system architecture, and performance tuning. Additionally, mentoring team members and sharing knowledge through coaching sessions are essential aspects of this position.
