About the role
Role Overview: As an Assistant Vice President in the FX Commodities & Settlement IT team within Global Markets IT at BNP Paribas, your primary responsibility will be to play a critical role in the end-to-end development, testing, and support of the Foreign Exchange Options booking platform for internal banking users. You will be involved in designing, enhancing, and maintaining high-performance applications, troubleshooting Level 3 issues, and collaborating with Project Managers to ensure the seamless delivery of development milestones. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development team in designing, coding, and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions that meet business needs. - Propose innovative solutions and approaches, including impact analysis, to ensure optimal performance and scalability. - Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient, standard-compliant systems. - Drive software quality through Unit, System, and Integration testing, leveraging automation and best practices. - Enforce SDLC and risk management standards, ensuring documentation, planning, and timely execution. - Provide Level 3 application support, troubleshooting production issues, and guiding L1/L2 teams on resolutions. - Partner with cross-functional teams (upstream/downstream) to ensure smooth project delivery and system integration. Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role. - Strong hands-on coding skills and expertise in system design. - Proven ability to mentor developers, drive technical decisions, and deliver high-impact solutions. - Experience in financial systems, trading platforms, or risk management is a plus. - Problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and innovation. - Bachelors degree or equivalent education level.
