About the internship: Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Support end-to-end homologation activities for M2 category commercial electric vehicles. 2. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing vehicle testing at ARAI, ICAT, GARC, and other certification agencies. 3. Prepare, review, and maintain certification documentation, technical specifications, engineering drawings, and regulatory submissions in accordance with AIS-007, CMVR, and other applicable standards. 4. Coordinate with design, vehicle integration, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure vehicle readiness for homologation. 5. Assist in conducting vehicle performance and validation tests, including range and energy consumption, gradeability, maximum speed, acceleration, braking and ABS, steering effort, turning circle, ride and handling, durability, and interior and exterior noise. 6. Support compliance verification with applicable CMVR, AIS, and BIS regulations. 7. Assist in planning, tracking, and documenting regulatory tests, observations, deviations, and corrective actions. 8. Maintain homologation records, test reports, compliance matrices, and engineering documentation. 9. Support certification activities, including CMVR physical verification, vehicle dimensions and weighment, VIN verification, brake and ABS testing, steering and turning circle evaluation, speedometer calibration, pass-by and interior noise testing, gradeability testing, lighting and signalling installation verification, rear-view mirror inspection, and seat anchorage compliance. 10. Assist in electric vehicle certification activities, including EMC testing (AIS-004), EV functional and safety tests (AIS-038 Rev.2), electric energy consumption (AIS-039), range testing (AIS-040), maximum and 30-minute power testing (AIS-041), traction battery compliance, vehicle tracking system compliance (AIS-140), stability and passive safety compliance, and type approval documentation. Basic understanding of electric vehicle systems, including batteries, motors, inverters/controllers, and charging systems. 2. Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, braking systems, steering, suspension, tyres, and chassis systems. 3. Familiarity with CMVR, AIS standards, or vehicle homologation is an added advantage. 4. Good analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. 5. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 6. Strong attention to detail and willingness to work at test tracks and certification agencies. 7. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline. 8. Final-year students or 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates are eligible to apply. 9. Participation in BAJA SAE, Formula Bharat, Supra SAE, eBAJA, or similar automotive competitions is an added advantage.
