Job Summary: Technologist - Scientific Ops Location: Sparks, MD 21152 | Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6AM–6PM | Pay Rate: $26.86/hr | Contractor

About the Role

Join BD as a Technologist in Scientific Operations to play a vital role in manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. This is a hands-on position ideal for professionals seeking weekend work and the chance to advance their technical expertise in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and assemble clinical and commercial product batches following strict GMP guidelines

  • Operate production equipment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every stage

  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials to verify correct ingredients and quantities

  • Conduct in-process testing to confirm products meet specifications

  • Validate equipment and processes related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization

  • Prepare solutions, powders, and liquids according to batch requirements

  • Safely handle and dispose of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids

  • Train new team members on procedures and best practices

  • Support supervisors and leads as needed with operational tasks

  • Propose and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiency

  • Maintain compliance with all BD safety and housekeeping standards

  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a regulated environment (Associate degree in a scientific field considered)

  • Proven experience with weighing/measuring raw materials, pipetting, filtration, and dilution

  • Strong attention to detail and time management abilities

  • Effective teamwork and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures

  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience in clinical or commercial manufacturing settings

  • Previous knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Familiarity with process validation and in-process testing
