Job Summary: CAD Technician – Hebron, Kentucky (Onsite – Cincinnati Area)
About the Role
Join a dynamic team as a CAD Technician at a leading automated fulfillment center in Hebron, KY. Ideal for early-career engineers and CAD professionals, this role offers hands-on training and mentorship from senior engineers. Responsibilities

Develop layouts for automated material handling systems in alignment with industry standards

Create detailed conveyor and equipment designs meeting project specifications

Build precise 3D models and conduct clash detection for assigned areas

Execute delegated design tasks accurately and efficiently under senior engineer guidance

Produce mechanical engineering deliverables using standardized templates and workflows
-
Generate 2D installation drawings for project approval and field use
-
Prepare documentation including equipment lists, manifests, and installation instructions
-
Perform calculations for throughput, motor power, belt pull, and structural loads
-
Conduct spatial analysis, clearance checks, and ergonomic reviews to ensure optimal design
-
Apply safety and regulatory standards across all design deliverables

Required Skills and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred)
-
1–2 years of engineering, drafting, or strong internship experience
-
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD drafting
-
Strong experience using 3D AutoCAD for modeling and 2D AutoCAD for installation drawings
-
Familiarity with Navisworks for 3D model review and visualization
-
Ability to support drafting, conveyor design, documentation, and manufacturing order preparation
-
Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality

Proactive communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in parcel delivery or fulfillment systems

Internship or co-op experience in engineering, manufacturing, or construction

Exposure to logistics or industrial automation

Project management familiarity
