(NOT IN INDIA) Job Summary A Health Safety Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations. The role focuses on identifying workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments, promoting a strong safety culture, investigating incidents, and ensuring a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, company standards, and legal requirements. Organize safety induction programs and conduct regular HSE training for employees and contractors. Monitor the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety compliance. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Prepare and maintain HSE reports, incident records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. Conduct emergency response planning, fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness programs. Identify unsafe acts and conditions and implement corrective actions to minimize risks. Coordinate with department managers to improve workplace safety performance. Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and chemicals. Monitor environmental compliance, waste management, and pollution control activities. Promote employee awareness and participation in workplace safety initiatives. Review safety procedures regularly and recommend continuous improvements. Support internal and external HSE audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings. Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements. Maintain first aid facilities, emergency equipment, and fire protection systems.
