They evaluate reservoir performance, develop drilling and production strategies, and apply advanced engineering techniques to maximize hydrocarbon recovery while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, environmental compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Petroleum Engineers collaborate with geologists, drilling teams, production engineers, and project managers to execute exploration and production activities in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Design and develop drilling, completion, and production plans for oil and gas wells. Analyze geological and reservoir data to identify hydrocarbon reserves and optimize recovery. Monitor drilling and production operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and cost control. Evaluate well performance and recommend production enhancement techniques. Conduct reservoir simulations and forecasting to estimate production potential. Prepare well designs, drilling programs, and technical engineering reports. Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and field personnel during exploration and production activities. Identify and implement methods to improve oil and gas recovery from existing fields. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, industry standards, and health and safety requirements. Troubleshoot drilling and production issues and recommend corrective actions. Monitor production data and optimize well performance using engineering analysis. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers during field operations. Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for drilling and production projects. Evaluate new technologies and engineering solutions to improve operational efficiency. Prepare technical documentation, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and project reports. Support field development planning and reservoir management initiatives. Participate in well testing, completion, and intervention activities. Ensure accurate maintenance of engineering records and operational documentation. Assist in budgeting, project scheduling, and resource planning for petroleum operations.
