(NOT IN INDIA) Job Description A Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components, products, and systems to meet customer and industry requirements. The role involves creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, preparing engineering drawings, performing design calculations, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards. Mechanical Design Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, production, quality, procurement, and project management to develop innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions. They also support prototype development, product testing, design validation, and continuous product improvement while ensuring projects are completed within schedule and budget. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems based on project requirements. Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Inventor. Prepare engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation. Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and engineering feasibility studies. Develop new products and improve existing designs for enhanced performance and manufacturability. Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure smooth product fabrication and assembly. Work closely with procurement teams to select suitable materials and components. Support prototype development, testing, validation, and product qualification activities. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective design modifications for product issues. Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations. Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings. Optimize product designs to reduce manufacturing costs and improve efficiency. Maintain engineering documentation, revision records, and design change management. Provide technical support to customers, production teams, and service engineers when required. Stay updated with emerging technologies, materials, and engineering best practices to drive innovation.
