Job Title and Overview We are seeking a Java Developer (Mid-Senior) with 5+ years of experience to design, build, and support scalable backend services and APIs. You will work closely with product, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance systems that power customer-facing applications and internal platforms. Location & Work Mode This is a Remote role. Candidates may be based in any location, provided they can collaborate effectively with a distributed engineering team. Key Responsibilities Design and implement RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot, adhering to clean architecture and SOLID principles. Build and maintain API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger), ensuring backward compatibility and clear versioning strategies. Develop data access layers and optimize queries for relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL stores as needed. Implement asynchronous and event-driven patterns using messaging systems (e.g., Kafka/RabbitMQ) to improve scalability and resilience. Write unit, integration, and contract tests (JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers) and contribute to overall test strategy and coverage goals. Collaborate with DevOps to containerize services (Docker) and support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/Jenkins), deployments, and environment configuration. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using logs/metrics/tracing (e.g., ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry), performing root-cause analysis and implementing preventative fixes. Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, documentation, and participation in architecture and design discussions. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Java (Java 11+) . Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot , Spring MVC, and Spring Data (JPA/Hibernate). Experience designing and consuming REST APIs ; familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger. Solid understanding of concurrency, performance tuning, JVM fundamentals, and memory profiling concepts. Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL); ability to optimize queries and indexing strategies. Experience with Git , code review workflows, and CI/CD best practices. Working knowledge of Docker and cloud concepts (AWS/Azure/GCP fundamentals). Strong communication skills for remote collaboration across time zones and cross-functional teams. Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Developer – Associate , Oracle Certified Professional (OCP Java) , or relevant cloud/devops certifications.
