Senior Java Fullstack Engineer

Job Title & Overview: Java Fullstack Engineer (Senior). We are seeking a highly experienced Fullstack Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable web applications and APIs using Java on the backend and modern JavaScript frameworks on the frontend. This role will partner with product, QA, and platform teams to deliver reliable, secure, high-performance features for enterprise customers. Location & Work Mode: Chennai, Tamil Nadu (Hybrid). You will work closely with local engineering and business stakeholders, with flexibility to work from home on select days based on team needs and sprint cadence. Key Responsibilities: Architect and deliver end-to-end features across backend services (Java/Spring Boot) and frontend applications (React/Angular), ensuring clean interfaces and maintainable code. Design RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations; define API contracts (OpenAPI/Swagger) and ensure backward compatibility. Own performance tuning and scalability initiatives (JVM tuning, database query optimization, caching strategies with Redis) and ensure high availability. Implement robust security controls (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, role-based access control), secure coding practices, and participate in threat modeling. Drive engineering best practices: code reviews, refactoring, automated testing (unit/integration/e2e), and CI/CD improvements. Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to build observable systems (logs/metrics/traces), troubleshoot production issues, and conduct post-incident reviews. Mentor senior/junior engineers, lead technical discussions, estimate work, and influence solution design across squads. Work in Agile/Scrum, translating product requirements into technical designs, user stories, and deliverables. Required Skills & Experience: 10+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java (8/11/17+) and Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security). Strong frontend experience with React or Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern build tooling (Webpack/Vite, npm/yarn). Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and messaging (Kafka or RabbitMQ). Solid SQL skills with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle) and ORM (Hibernate/JPA); experience with NoSQL is a plus. Experience with cloud and containers: Docker, Kubernetes, and deployments on AWS/Azure/GCP. CI/CD expertise with Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI; strong Git workflows and branching strategies. Testing practices using JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, Cypress/Selenium; familiarity with TDD/BDD is preferred. Observability and production readiness: ELK/OpenSearch, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing concepts. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field required (B.E/B.Tech/BSc). Preferred: Master’s degree (M.E/M.Tech/MSc). Certifications are a plus such as AWS Certified Developer/Architect, Oracle Java Certification, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD). Salary Range (Approx.): ₹30,00,000 – ₹45,00,000 per annum (CTC), depending on experience and interview performance.
