About the role
Job Title & Overview: We are hiring a .NET Core Developer to build and maintain scalable, secure backend services and APIs using modern Microsoft technologies. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle—design, development, testing, deployment, and production support—working closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable business features. Location & Work Mode: This role is Hybrid with collaboration expected in New York, NY on selected days, and remote work the rest of the week. Candidates must be able to work in U.S. time zones and participate in scheduled team ceremonies. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET 8/.NET Core , ASP.NET Core , and C# . Implement data access layers using Entity Framework Core (code-first/migrations) and optimize SQL queries for performance. Build secure authentication/authorization flows using OAuth2/OpenID Connect (e.g., Azure AD/IdentityServer) and enforce RBAC/claims-based authorization. Write automated tests using xUnit/NUnit , mocking frameworks (e.g., Moq), and ensure high coverage for critical modules. Collaborate with DevOps to create and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), containerize workloads with Docker , and support deployments. Participate in architecture and code reviews; enforce clean code practices, SOLID principles, and secure coding standards. Monitor and troubleshoot production issues using structured logging and APM tools; perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to estimation, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills & Experience: Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core/.NET , C# , and ASP.NET Core Web API . Experience with Entity Framework Core and relational databases such as SQL Server (or PostgreSQL). Solid understanding of REST , HTTP, API versioning, and API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI . Proficiency with Git and modern branching strategies; experience collaborating via pull requests and code reviews. Knowledge of dependency injection , background processing (e.g., Hosted Services/Hangfire), and caching (e.g., Redis). Experience with cloud services (preferably Azure ) and deployment automation/CI-CD. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering , or related field preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) .
