Software Engineer

Job Title and Overview We are hiring a Software Engineer (5+ years) to design, build, and operate reliable software services that power customer-facing and internal platforms. You will work closely with product, design, and QA to deliver scalable features with strong engineering fundamentals, focusing on clean architecture, performance, and maintainability. Location & Work Mode This is a Remote role. You will collaborate with a distributed team across multiple time zones, with regular overlap hours for stand-ups, pairing sessions, and incident reviews. Key Responsibilities Design and implement backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) with well-defined contracts, versioning, and documentation. Build and maintain scalable data models and persistence layers using SQL/NoSQL as appropriate; optimize queries and indexing. Own end-to-end delivery: estimation, implementation, code review, testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and support. Implement automated testing (unit, integration, contract) and improve test coverage and reliability. Develop cloud-native workloads (containers, managed services) and ensure security best practices (secrets management, least privilege). Improve performance and reliability through profiling, caching, async processing, and resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers). Participate in on-call rotation; triage incidents using logs/metrics/traces and drive root-cause analyses and postmortems. Mentor junior engineers, raise the bar in code quality, and contribute to engineering standards and architecture decisions. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems. Strong proficiency in at least one backend language/framework: Java (Spring Boot), C# (.NET), Python (FastAPI/Django), or Node.js (TypeScript). API design experience (REST/GraphQL), authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT), and secure coding practices. Database experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORMs; understanding of transactions, isolation, and schema migrations. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker); familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus. CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code basics (Terraform/CloudFormation). Observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog/New Relic) and debugging distributed systems. Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and writing clear technical documentation (RFCs, runbooks). Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Developer – Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Developer.
