Compute Engineer – Infrastructure Resiliency
Location: New York, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; Lake Mary, FL Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Job Type: C2C, Contract through end of 2026 (extension likely)
About the Role
Join a forward-thinking team as a Compute Engineer – Infrastructure Resiliency and help design, implement, and support resilient compute environments across physical, virtual, and hybrid platforms. You’ll drive critical initiatives to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence for enterprise systems. You’ll collaborate with experts across storage, network, security, and applications, expanding both your technical expertise and your professional network.
Responsibilities

Engineer, administer, and support enterprise compute infrastructure across Linux, Windows Server, VMware, and Nutanix platforms

Optimize server environments for peak performance, security, and operational stability

Develop and enhance solutions to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and seamless backup integration

Automate server provisioning, patching, configuration management, and compliance remediation

Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues related to operating systems, virtualization, and system performance

Create and maintain robust technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and scalable compute solutions

Required Skills and Experience
-
Extensive experience as a Compute, Systems, or Infrastructure Engineer in enterprise environments

Hands-on expertise with Linux server administration, Windows Server administration, VMware, and Nutanix platforms
-
Proven knowledge of virtualization architecture, high availability, and disaster recovery methodologies

Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Skills
-
Experience with hybrid cloud or cloud-adjacent infrastructure models
-
Familiarity with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and orchestration tools

Background in business continuity, resiliency testing, and failover readiness

Exposure to converged or hyperconverged infrastructure environments
-
Experience in regulated enterprise environments with strong compliance controls
-
Relevant certifications (VCP, NCP, Microsoft Certified, RHCSA/RHCE)
