Responsibilities

Lead full-cycle Oracle-to-AWS data migrations using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), including full-load, Change Data Capture (CDC), and real-time streaming.

Analyze business needs and technical requirements to design scalable, secure AWS cloud architectures.

Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes for large-scale data integration and transformation.

Automate migration workflows with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, ensuring repeatable and reliable deployments.

Configure and manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPNs, Direct Connect, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, and monitoring tools like CloudWatch and CloudTrail.

Create comprehensive migration, cutover, and rollback plans to minimize downtime and risk.

Document technical designs, procedures, and migration runbooks for seamless knowledge transfer.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support legacy system modernization and hybrid cloud/on-prem connectivity.

Required Skills and Experience
-
8+ years in IT delivering technology solutions and cloud migrations.

8+ years hands-on with AWS DMS for Oracle-to-AWS migrations.

Deep expertise in batch/real-time data ingestion, CDC, and streaming architectures.

Proven experience with AWS infrastructure, networking, and security.

Mastery in core AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation or Terraform).

Strong ETL/ELT and data integration background within cloud projects.

Advanced scripting/automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Skilled in developing migration strategies, cutover, and rollback plans.

Excellent written and verbal communication, including technical documentation.

Hands-on with hybrid cloud environments and legacy system modernization.

Preferred Skills

AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Database Specialty).

Exposure to public sector or state government IT environments.
